Even though I am miles away I will always have a part of Manchester in my mind. I am married to Tim Platt and have a beautiful daughter, Addison. I am a hair stylist @ Design 2000 in Statesboro,Ga. While my husband works as a Police officer for the City of Metter,Ga. and is a martial arts instructor at Statesboro Karate( www.statesborokravmaga.com ). My parents still live there in Manchester; Ted and Lyndia Rogers. My family and I return to Manchester several times a year to see my family and friends. I lived in Manchester for only a short time(kindergarten-4th). I still have great memories of my time there. Many of my memories come from the time I spent at Macedonia Baptist Church. My family and I had the pleasure of becoming aquainted with great people who we still are proud to call our friends, and family. Oldtime Wash Instructions to Papa Stinnett

Years ago Mama Stinnett gave Papa Stinnett the following recipe for washing clothes. It appears below just as it was written and, despite the spelling, has a bit of philosophy. This is exactly as written and preserved in an old scrap book (with spelling intact).

1. Bilt fire in backyard to heat kettle of rain water.
2. Set tubs so smoke wont blow in eyes if wind is pert.
3. Shave one hole cake of lie soap in bilin water.
4. Sort things, make 3 piles.
1 pile white,
1 pile colored,
1 pile work britches and rags.
5. To make starch, stir flour in cool water to smooth, then thin down with bilin water.
6. Take white things, rub dirty spots on board, scrub hard, and then bile. Rub colored don't bile, just rinch and starch.
7. Take things out of kettle with broomstick handle, then rinch, and starch.
8. Hang old rags on fence.
9. Spread tea towels on grass.
10. Pore rinch water in flower bed.
11. Scrub porch with hot soapy water.
12. Turn tubs upside down.
13. Go put on clean dress, smooth hair with hair combs. Brew cup of tea, sit and rock a spell and count your blessings.

An update! I have been married now for 3 years to Johnny Craven. We just had a wonderful little girl 2 months ago. Her name is Kelsie Nicole Craven aka Nikki. We love her. She is our little bundle of joy. She was born Jan. 18, 2003. I now have 2 nephews, Tye, who will be 4 in July and Tanner, who will be 2 weeks tomorrow (March 18). My family is doing well. Hello, My name is David Brandt, I am 15 years old,

My dad was a firefighter for many years until a very serious accident last year, left him confined to a wheel chair..
He,s also a US Veteran who served in the Air Force 1st as a SP Then Changed to Firefighting..

He cant leave the house since his accedent, the only thing that seems to cheer him up a little is talking about the fire service

So mom and me talked,
Me and dad are starting to collect patches (Fire, Ems, Police, Sherrif, Hazmat ETC) from all over the world, and if you have a extra one, We would like to have it..

This is new for us, I,m doing this as a new hobby for my dad and me, mainly for him to keep his spirts up.
